Marhaba, Welcome, Bienvenue

Assalamu alaikum,
Steps to Jannah Halaqa was created out of a sincere intention to help brothers and sisters grow closer to Allah, strengthen their iman, and journey toward Jannah together, through Quran, reminders, good character, and supportive companionship.
Whether you are just beginning your path or seeking to deepen your connection with Islam, you are warmly welcome here. Please come with a soft heart, open ears, and a willingness to learn, reflect, and support one another. May this halaqa be a means of guidance, healing, and a step toward Jannah for all of us, ameen.

Our People, Our Culture

Steps to Jannah Halaqa warmly welcomes brothers and sisters from all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences to come together in one Ummah. Our culture is built on kindness, respect, and unity, where everyone is encouraged to blend in, share their stories, and support one another without fear of judgment. We firmly forbid all forms of discrimination, whether based on race, ethnicity, language, nationality, or social status and remind one another that true worth in Islam is based only on taqwa (consciousness of Allah). This space is a living reflection of the Prophet ﷺ’s message: to treat all people with dignity and to see diversity as a blessing from Allah, not a barrier to brotherhood or sisterhood.
Quranic basis: Knowing and respecting other people and cultures
Allah teaches us in the Quran that He created humanity from a single soul and then diversified us into different nations, tribes, and communities so that we may “know one another” and learn from one another. This is clearly stated in Surah Al‑Hujurat:
“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.”
(Surah Al‑Hujurat, 49:13)
This ayah shows that cultural, national, and linguistic diversity are not mistakes or sources of division, but rather a purposeful design of Allah to encourage mutual understanding, learning, and compassion. The word “to know one another” (لِتَعَارَفُوا) implies recognizing, engaging with, and respecting others, not rejecting them.
From this verse we understand that:
Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, or culture is contrary to the purpose of our creation.
True superiority is only in piety and good character, not in colour, language, or social status.
Respecting and learning from people of different backgrounds is an act of obedience to Allah and a means of strengthening the Ummah.
This spirit of unity‑in‑diversity is the foundation of our halaqa’s culture: welcoming everyone, forbidding discrimination, and encouraging brothers and sisters to blend together in a single, compassionate, Jannah‑oriented community.
